About us
Our role in the community
We are committed to being a socially responsible organisation, actively supporting local communities by: sponsoring local groups and events, encouraging children’s participation in community activities and building positive connections beyond the home.
Our mission and values
As a child-centred organisation, our practice is rooted in professional curiosity about the children we serve. We hold clear aspirations for their growth and success. Our ethos is built on: Integrity in everything we do, strong social values, a clear sense of responsibility to children and communities. At Brighter Futures Cymru, above all, we offer hope for the future to our children, their families, and the wider community.
Our core values
Guide all aspects of our work: Integrity, curiosity, hope, aspiration, responsibility and child-focused practice.
These values are actively held in mind across our care and supervision structures and in daily practice, examples of this are:
Integrity
1
We act with honesty and transparency, holding ourselves and each other accountable to high standards. We take responsibility for our decisions and continuously learn and improve as an organisation, including strengthening our systems and infrastructure where needed.
How do I get started?
2
We approach behaviour with professional curiosity, seeking to understand the experiences and needs behind it. This enables us to overcome challenges and provide thoughtful, individualised support for each child.
Hope
3
We provide consistent care and relationships that help children to feel safe, valued, and optimistic about their future.
Aspiration
4
We actively support children to aim high and achieve their goals — whether that is learning to drive, applying for university, or engaging in opportunities such as Army preparation programmes and community activities. Our care is progressive.
We take our role seriously in managing risk, safeguarding children, and supporting positive outcomes. We promote accountability across our teams and ensure children’s plans are safe, robust, and responsive. We are not risk averse, we take measured and considered risk to allow our children to evolve.
Children are at the centre of all decision-making. Our care is progressive and outcome-focused — all children in our homes have accessed education and clinical input, and many have been able to step down their levels of staffing as they develop greater independence and stability.

Our delivery is strengthened by a comprehensive clinical team, who provide specialist oversight and guidance across our homes. We operate a zero agency usage model, ensuring consistency of care, stable relationships, and a workforce fully aligned with our values..
Our locations
We operate a small number of homes in: Mid Wales, south Wales, Ross-on-Wye and Bristol Our homes are intentionally small, allowing for highly individualised, relationship-based care tailored to each child.
